If I...I used to paint, and would do the same thing. If I were making a dragon, then I would research the shape and proportions of a lizard, but because no one knows what dragons really look like, the magic allows me to make it how I want. It's still familiar enough that people can recognize it for what it is, but different enough that I hoped others would be inspired and enjoy it.
